Financial Controller, Acquiring

Adyen is looking for a (Senior) Financial Controller, Acquiring to join the Product Financial Controlling team. 

This pivotal role is within the Amsterdam-based Group Finance function, in which you would be a key contributor to the reporting and analysis of Adyen’s Net Revenue. You will act as a bridge between Group Finance and the Acquiring and Local Payment Methods product teams as well as contributing to financial process optimisation.

What you’ll do

• Partner with the Payment Partnerships and Product teams by providing them with margin analyses and other insights to drive prioritization.
• Contribute to high level variance analysis and analytical reviews during the month-end close activities.
• Regular deep dives into the Acquiring and Product functions to understand the underlying business activity driving the financial figures
• Responsible for performing month-end close activities, including preparation of journals, reconciliation of accounts and the reporting of the financial results relating to Net Revenue.
• Work with Finance Developers and Data Analysts to improve the speed and accuracy of financial data extractions and build scalable accounting flows.
• Identify and drive opportunities to optimize and automate financial processes, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
• Contribute to the internal control framework (risk assessments and control implementation).

 Who you are

• 5+ years of experience in accounting or financial controlling. A CPA/CA/RA (or equivalent) qualification is advantageous but not required
• You have excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; you dare to challenge the status quo
• Strong knowledge of Excel, including use of pivot tables and formulas (SQL skills are a plus). An affinity for working with large data sets within tools such as Looker or similar.
• Ability to analyze data, drive process improvements/automations, and maintain attention to detail
• Proactive approach to projects, demonstrating the ability to both independently and as part of a team
• Forward-thinking mindset, ensuring implemented solutions are scalable for Adyen's continued growth
• Previous exposure to financial services or Tech industries is advantageous
• You have the ability to step out of the details to perform high-level analysis, with the ability to sense-check the overall reasonability of the numbers
