Financial Controller, IPP

Adyen is looking for a Financial Controller, In-person Payments (IPP) to join the Product Financial Controlling team. 

This pivotal role sits within the Amsterdam-based Group Finance function, and takes ownership of reporting on the financial position and results of our terminal hardware business. Your responsibilities will extend to contributing to financial process optimization and building accounting flows for new products.

What you’ll do

• Your principal focus will be scaling the inventory accounting process for our continually growing IPP offering
• Collaborate with and support stakeholders in and outside of Group Finance, such as Procurement, Supply chain and Product teams
• Regular deep dives into the relevant IPP functions to understand the underlying business activity driving the financial figures
• Responsible for performing month-end close activities, including preparation of journals, reconciliation of accounts, reporting of the financial results relating to sales of terminals and inventory accounting.
• Work with Finance Developers and Data Analysts to improve the speed and accuracy of financial data extractions, as well as optimize and automate our current ways of working
• Work with product teams and finance developers to build accounting flows for new products, ensuring seamless integration into existing processes
• Contribute to the internal control framework (risk assessments and control implementation)

 Who you are

• 5+ years of experience in accounting or financial controlling. A CPA/CA/RA (or equivalent) qualification is advantageous but not required
• Strong knowledge of Excel, including use of pivot tables and formulas
• Ability to analyze data and drive process improvements/automations
• Proactive approach to projects, demonstrating the ability to both independently and as part of a team
• Forward-thinking mindset, ensuring implemented solutions are scalable for Adyen's continued growth
• Previous exposure to inventory accounting and/or implementing an ERP will be advantageous but not required.
• You have the ability to step out of the details to perform high-level analysis, and sense-check the overall reasonability of the numbers
