Project Operations Manager

As a Project Operations Manager based in Amsterdam, you will be focused primarily on delivery and execution of complex global Point of Sale (POS) projects for the benefit of our Merchants. These Merchants operate in different industries such as Hospitality, Retail or Platforms. POS deployments are complex affairs which provide substantial operational challenges and due to our ongoing success in this area, we are looking to add a Project Operations Manager to our team in Amsterdam.
As an expert driving complex technical POS solutions you will interact and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders in order to create a seamless service deployment experience for Merchants looking to go live on our platform. You will do this by using your experience in integrating systems and superb project management skills. This is a varied and hands-on role, in which your tasks range from discussing a project’s strategic direction on the one end to verifying correct payment terminal configurations on the other end.

What you'll do

  • Managing the project lifecycle from start to finish, ensuring that a Merchant is fully prepared to deploy our solution within their physical stores;
  • Working closely with Merchants’ project and technical teams as well as third parties such as technical integration partners to ensure a smooth rollout;
  • Building relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective management and communication of progress to all parties;
  • Providing guidance on Adyen’s POS product and advising Merchants on the solution that best fits their business needs;
  • Ensuring successful project handovers once the rollout has been completed by setting up scalable business as usual and support processes;
  • Contributing to internal process improvement initiatives to help our business scale.

Who you are

  • Experienced with setting-up complex (ideally technical) projects with multiple stakeholders. Experience in an Industry or Payment is a plus;
  • Client-facing experience, stakeholders management, ability to take decisions and speak up;
  • Excellent Project Management skills and the ability to lead and manage detailed, time-sensitive initiatives in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision;
  • Able to interface and cooperate seamlessly with a global team, adapting to international time constraints where appropriate. Having work experience abroad and/or in multicultural teams is a pre;
  • Clear understanding of the challenges of global commerce and the various components that are required from a Merchant in order to be successful across different regions;
  • Great fluency, in both spoken and written English and Polish;
  • Must be willing to travel, both domestically and Internationally where required.
