VP Account Management, EMEA

You will lead a team of 250+ Account Managers responsible for the success and growth of our EMEA headquartered enterprise customers. AMs are at the heart of how we deliver on our promise to customers to help them achieve their ambitions faster. We expect our AMs to understand our customers' business and goals, provide proactive recommendations, and grow together. You will build and manage executive customer relationships, motivate and inspire your team to help our customers and develop our business, and help evolve our global AM org as part of the AM leadership team. This role will report directly to the SVP Global Account Management and Partnerships. 

The ideal candidate is a seasoned commercial leader who is a strategic thinker, is comfortable with ambiguity, collaborates extensively to get the job done, and has proven experience with growing enterprise customers.

What you'll do:

  • Customer growth: Set and achieve clear team and individual goals focused on revenue growth and NPS.
  • Executive relationships: Build customer relationships, providing proactive advice to influence their global payments strategy and resolve escalations.
  • Team strategy: Develop, articulate, and execute a clear AM vision in EMEA (and also influence globally), in alignment with the company's overall business goals and market trends, to continuously evolve and improve how we work.
  • Team leadership: Build and lead a high-performing 200+ person team with an inspiring, collaborative environment and open feedback culture.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure our customers succeed with Adyen.

Who you're:

  • Proven experience (15+ years) of leading successful enterprise customer expansion thanks to strong commercial skills.
  • Strong Leader with a track record of scaling and evolving large (200+) high-performing teams across multiple countries and cultures.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Fintech and/or payments experience, with a deep understanding of market dynamics, customer needs, and industry trends.
  • A strong reputation for "getting things done," an entrepreneurial mindset that drives accountability for oneself and others.

Other Job Details

  • This role will be based in Amsterdam, although we are also open to Berlin or London. We have a hybrid workplace and value in-person collaboration; we do not offer remote-only roles.
  • This role requires domestic and international travel.
