Operations Analytics

The Team Lead for Operations Data Analysts will manage a team of Data Analysts, transforming operational data into actionable insights. This role plays a critical part in building the data foundations necessary to support operational excellence and improve decision-making across Operations. Collaborating closely with operations domains, product, and engineering teams, you’ll drive strategic initiatives, run monthly and quarterly meetings, enable data-driven solutions, and help shape the roadmap for operational efficiency and scalability.

Being a team leader is about ensuring skill development, taking care of people, and maintaining efficient processes to achieve outcomes.

What you'll do

People

  • Organizational Design: Structure the team to meet the diverse data needs of the operations function, ensuring efficient resource allocation.
  • Diversity and Inclusion: Build a team of diverse individuals, aligning them with a shared vision and fostering collaboration.
  • Performance Management: Provide timely and constructive feedback, addressing performance issues early and supporting team growth.
  • Leadership Drivers: Embody the values of "We empower, We care, We act, We scale."
  • Expectations: Set clear and achievable goals for each team member, enabling their success.

Process

  • Vision: Define and communicate the team’s vision, ensuring alignment with the Operations domains, Data Analytics goals, and the Adyen Formula.
  • Cadence: Lead team cadence with meetings, reviews etc  while being mindful of balancing operational work to avoid overload.
  • Projects: Develop and manage a project roadmap for cross-functional analytics initiatives, including data quality improvements, global operations reporting, and data governance.
  • Documentation: Ensure best practices and guidelines for operational data usage are well documented and easily accessible to support decision-making processes.

Who you are 

  • Experienced: A minimum of 2 years of experience working in a team lead position in a data analytics team.
  • Leader and a coach: You lead teams in a caring manner and are capable of helping people grow from where they are to where they can fulfill their full potential.
  • Technical Expert: Proficient Python and SQL. Strong with BI tools such as Looker.
  • Persuader and Communicator: Able to lead discussions effectively with technical and nontechnical audiences and different stakeholders across the company.
  • Curiosity-driven:  Asks the right questions and finds out more about the content and technology we work with on their own initiative.

  • Insights: Operations Data Analytics is more than just developing dashboards—it's about delivering insights that drive operational improvement and efficiencies.
  • Skills: Ensure each team member has the hard and soft skills necessary for their roles and foster continuous learning and development.Strong collaboration and facilitation skills.
  • Quality: Establish a high standard for data accuracy, relevance, and quality, ensuring the team's outputs are reliable and actionable.
  • Data Mindset: Guide the team to think critically, avoid biases, and apply rigorous methods in data analysis.
  • Hands-on Leader: You’re a seasoned professional who is comfortable working with large-scale data systems  and can step in to solve complex problems when necessary.Knowledge of project management and analytical assessment methodologies.
