This is Adyen
Adyen is the payments platform of choice for the world's leading companies, delivering frictionless payments across online, mobile, and in-store channels. Our team members are motivated individuals that help each other do remarkable things every day. We face unique technical challenges at scale and we solve those as a team. And together, we deliver innovative and ethical solutions that transform the way the world pays.
We took an unobvious approach to starting a payments company, building a platform from scratch. Now, Adyen serves the world's brightest companies like Facebook, Uber, L'Oreal, Casper, Bonobos, and Spotify.
Our engineers are reshaping the payments landscape. We’re looking for more talented problem solvers to help us address a unique set of challenges.
Android Software Engineer
Adyen is looking for full-time Android Software Engineers to help us conquer the world of mobile payments. You'll be working in a collaborative and motivated team with a lot of room to start new initiatives and take ownership. Besides having an open and entrepreneurial mindset, we expect you to be experienced in Android development, both from an implementation and architectural point of view. Join us on the journey of reimagining the way people pay on mobile and take your part in revolutionizing the payment industry!
We are responsible for:
Delivering the best payment experience on Android payment devices
We are building a platform for dedicated payment devices where merchants can operate their own apps. That means that retailers can keep stock, and restaurants can manage their tables, while taking payments on the same device. This brings business and payments together in a single mobile device. You will be focusing on building a platform that facilitates these functions, such as device management and the payment functionality, using the latest technologies such as Kotlin, Hilt, Flow, and Compose.
Building mobile payment solutions to facilitate taking payments anywhere
We are developing "the card reader”, which is the companion to a merchant’s smartphone or tablet. It connects via Bluetooth Low Energy and it can be attached to the mobile device with the use of a magnet which is built into the hardware. This makes it ideal for the mobile use case, as it facilitates taking payments anywhere inside or outside of the merchant's physical location. You will be working on an SDK that merchants can easily integrate into their own application. This SDK connects to the card reader and handles everything around payments. That brings interesting architecture and security challenges. The project is in active development, and you will help us launch.
Who you are
Nice to have:
Our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion commitments
Our unobvious approach is a product of our diverse perspectives. This diversity of backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives is essential in helping us maintain our momentum. So no matter where you’re from, who you love, or what you believe in, we welcome you to be your true self at Adyen.
