Payment Operations Analyst

As part of the Global Acquiring team, you will be at the core of Adyen’s growth by implementing the latest payment features and specifications, and by continuously finding new optimization opportunities through data and merchant insights. This is a brand new team in North America, and we’re looking to hire several talented team members..

As part of your role, you will manage payment operations for a global payment platform with a specific focus on North America. You will have or develop a mastery around all things card payments related, and share your perspectives with internal teams and external merchants.

You will work closely with peers in Amsterdam, Singapore, and Sao Paolo to adopt/enhance frameworks and improve automation at the core of the business. You will also work closely with your peers in the US across several teams including partnerships, data, product, account management, and beyond.

This role requires a blend of skills including an analytical mindset, operational acumen, initiative management, creativity, and an overall desire to be an accelerator for our business. 

This role is based in our San Francisco office. Adyen operates a hybrid work environment and believes in the power of in-person collaboration to help you in your career and to out-perform as a team.  You should plan to be in the SF office 3 or more days a week. What you’ll do:

• Own card scheme updates for North America including management of pricing/fee and rule/policy changes. This includes impact analysis, planning, merchant communications, and alignment with internal teams.
• Own scheme fee investigations and drive towards a ‘zero defect’ experience for our merchants.
• Conduct passthrough analysis to ensure an accurate 100% billing rate, and manage followthrough investigations. 
• Manage downgrades / processing defects on a regular basis, identify root causes, and drive towards resolution. 
• Develop and share your expertise in global payment trends, fees, rules, & regulations with internal stakeholders.
• Develop and lead programs to further Adyen’s strategic goals and overall positioning in key markets / segments.
• Participate in Quarterly Business Reviews with our top merchants to provide insights as needed.
• Ensure core Operating responsibilities are being fulfilled, including network reporting, certifications, etc.

Who you are:

• 2+ years of related analytical experience, preferably in Payments / fintech.
• Strong quantitative / detail-oriented background (engineering, economics, finance, etc.)
• Some experience using SQL.
• Technical aptitude.
• A swift problem solver who possesses sound judgment, flexibility and nimbleness in changing courses.
• Possess critical thinking skills to comprehend and interpret emerging trends.
• Effective and self-sufficient with the ability to operate comfortably within a complex global environment.
• Excellent written / verbal communication skills.
