Financial Controller, Portuguese speaker

As a financial controller for our LATAM entities, you’re responsible for financial compliance of all of the local Adyen entities (Brazil and Mexico). You’ll actively be involved in a range of accounting, financial controlling, regulatory- and tax compliance topics for our businesses locally. Being part of the centralised financial controlling team furthermore means you’ll be working in the (financial) engine room of a registered and listed financial institution; being part of a relatively small team means you’ll be (in)directly involved in a lot of very interesting topics that reach beyond the LATAM borders.

This is a great opportunity for some of our analytical minds to get an in depth understanding of how financial institutions operate. Can be seen as a step to build a future career in Finance or a temporary rotation to build analytical skills and business acumen beyond the current role. We are searching for the ‘unconventional’ candidate, someone who is able to crunch numbers while speaking the 'language of the business’.

What you’ll do

  • Take on responsibility for the financial controlling of Adyen’s LATAM entities, which includes accounting, statutory filings, tax and treasury matters;
  • Implement and support regulatory reporting to the Central Bank of Brasil;
  • Support and improve month-end and (half) year-end close processes;
  • Connect and collaborate with other regional Controllers and Group Finance team members to build a world-class Controlling team;
  • Be open for any new project that'll arise in the Group Finance team of a rapidly growing company and challenge prevailing assumptions.

Who you are

  • You have 3-5 years of experience in financial controlling or accounting; Experience with (Brazilian) regulatory reporting is a plus
  • Proficient in both Portuguese and English
  • You are detail-oriented and have strong analytical and multi-tasking skills;
  • Pro-active in projects you take on, able to work independently but never afraid to ask for help;
  • Able to think 2 steps ahead, making sure that implemented solutions are scalable for Adyen’s rapid growth.

Our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion commitments

Our unobvious approach is a product of our diverse perspectives. This diversity of backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives is essential in helping us maintain our momentum. Our business and technical challenges are unique, we need as many different voices as possible to join us in solving them - voices like yours. So no matter where you’re from, who you love, or what you believe in, we welcome you to be your true self at Adyen.

Studies show that women and members of underrepresented communities apply for jobs only if they meet 100% of the qualifications. Does it sound like you? If so, Adyen encourages you to reconsider and apply. We look forward to your application.

What’s next?

Ensuring a smooth and enjoyable candidate experience is critical for us. We aim to get back to you regarding your application within 3 business days. Our interview process tends to take between 3 or 4 weeks to complete. Don’t be afraid to let us know if you need more flexibility.

Please, note that this role is a full-time position in Amsterdam. It will require a relocation in case you live outside of the Netherlands.
