Regulatory Compliance Specialist

The Americas General Counsel’s Organization at Adyen is seeking a Compliance Specialist in Mexico to provide compliance oversight and assistance to Adyen’s payments services in this market.

 

The mission of the Americas General Counsel’s Organization is to protect Adyen’s vision through legal and compliance expertise and strategic advice. This helps our Mexico sales and account management teams to manage risk, identify opportunities, and deliver on Adyen’s offering of exceptional products and services. Given the dynamic nature of the global payments industry and the interconnectivity between the Americas General Counsel’s Organization and the business, we see it as imperative to attract and develop talented people by:

What you’ll do

  • Take ownership over our regulatory compliance management, with focus on the Securities and Exchange Commission (Comisión Nacional Bancaria y de Valores or CNBV) and the general provisions applicable to Payment Networks in Mexico.
  • Research, interpret, and summarize regulatory requirements and operational rules in easily understood terms and work with internal teams to correctly implement those requirements.
  • Understand Mexican regulatory requirements for payment processing in restricted or regulated industries such as pharmaceutical, gambling, insurance, and medical services.
  • Interface with external partners like Visa, Mastercard and PROSA and regulators such as SHCP, Banco de México (Banxico) and the CNBV.
  • Management of regulatory obligations in regards to AML/CTF for regulated and non regulated financial institutions in Mexico.
  • Management of regulatory obligations in regards to data protection (LFPDPPP) for regulated and non regulated financial institutions in Mexico.

 

 

Who you are

  • You have experience working with Mexican Regulators in a specialized industry (finance, telecommunications, petrochemical, etc).
  • You have strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to convey advice clearly and synthesize complex issues 
  • You have the ability to determine the regulatory impact of any compliance requirements to business initiatives
  • You have the ability to interface and develop rapport with the regulators (SHCP, Banco de México (Banxico) and the CNBV)
  • You are self-motivated, reliable, adaptable and detail-oriented
  • You have solid people skills because you will be working with a variety of internal and external stakeholders from various disciplines and cultures
  • You have full professional proficiency (written and verbal) in Spanish and English
